Tomoko Shibata, postdoctoral associate in the Department of Biology at the University of Miami, will present “Development and Regeneration of Feather Stars (Stalkless Crinoids)” on Monday, October 4 at 12:20 p.m. in the Cox Science Center, Room 166. Shibata’s current research focuses on embryonic development and regeneration in the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis and the comb jelly Mnemiopsis leidyi. The Launch Pad at Toppel presents the workshop “Financial Modeling” on Monday, October 4 from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at the Toppel Career Center Library. Bagels, brownies, cupcakes, cookies, and other delicious baked goods will be on sale on Monday, October 4 starting at 8 a.m. in both the upstairs and downstairs lobbies of the Gables One Tower, 1320 S. Dixie Highway. Sponsored by the offices of the Board of Trustees, General Counsel, and Internal Audit, the bake sale will run for the entire day or until all tasty treats have been sold, with proceeds benefitting the United Way.
