John L. Bixby Appointed Vice Provost for Research

John L. Bixby

Ask John Bixby what he enjoys most about conducting research, and he’ll provide an immediate answer. Now Bixby will be able to channel his love of research into a new role with the potential to benefit all UM investigators. A professor in the Departments of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology and Neurological Surgery at the Miller School of Medicine and senior associate dean for graduate and postdoctoral studies, Bixby has been appointed vice provost for research, assuming a major role in which he will shape UM’s research enterprise.
