UMH Medicine grand rounds: DVT Prophylaxis in Hospitalized Acutely Ill Medical Patients-2010

The Division of Hospital Medicine will present grand rounds on Thursday, March 18 at 12 p.m. at University of Miami Hospital, Seminar Centers A and B, first floor. Steven Deitelzweig, chair, Hospital Medicine Ochsner Clinic Foundation, vice president of medical affairs, and associate professor of medicine at Tulane University, will present “DVT Prophylaxis in Hospitalized Acutely Ill Medical Patients – 2010.”

By attending this lecture, participants will be able to list the risk factors for VTE and assess overall risk in each hospitalized patient, demonstrate awareness of the most recent clinical and quality guidelines for risk and assessment and prophylaxis in VTE, and identify potential gaps in relation to current practice, develop a strategy for improving guideline adherence and reducing thromboembolic risk within the hospital setting. The lecture is designed for family practitioners, emergency physicians, surgeons, internists, and hospitalists. This is a non-CME lecture.
