James F. Sallis, distinguished professor of family and preventive medicine at the University of California, San Diego, will present “Building Active Communities: Research to Advance Policy and Practice” on Monday, February 6 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Clinical Research Building, first-floor auditorium. Called the “obesity warrior” by Time magazine, Sallis is one of the most cited authors in the social sciences. He will discuss reversing the tide of inactivity by promoting healthier, more active communities and will provide examples of how research is being used to stimulate and guide changes in policy and practice.
