Lisa Dorfman, director of Sports Medicine Nutrition and Performance at UHealth Sports Medicine, will speak on identifying and understanding diet personality, finding the best meals and snacks to reach optimal health, and developing food, fitness, and emotional strategies to tackle obstacles that prevent us from reaching personal goals in health, sports, and life. This seminar, sponsored by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), provides participants with the tools to define attainable financial goals and manage cash more effectively to secure a viable financial future. Presenter Bret Chernow, a chartered retirement planning counselor, is a senior financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. and a member of the University of Miami Office of Planned Giving Broward County Advisory Board. Bennie Blades, a UM alumnus, Ring of Honor member, and University of Miami Office of Planned Giving Broward County Advisory Board member, will also speak about his own personal money management experience. A UM Benefits representative will be in attendance to answer questions. Participants will:
• Examine the impact of inflation, taxes, and portfolio performance on individual goals
• Learn ways to align investing strategies with financial goals
• Review the importance of protection planning and the dangers of procrastination

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Pathology invites you to participate in the 35th Annual Review and Recent Advances in Pathology course, held January 25 to 29, 2010 at The Alexander All-Suites Oceanfront Resort in Miami Beach, Florida.
This is the 35th in a series of courses conducted by the Miller School faculty, where practicing pathologists, oncologists, and other health care professionals are exposed to a panel of distinguished guests and faculty, all leaders in their field, with the latest developments in pathology.
