Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work takes the audience on a yearlong ride with legendary comedian Joan Rivers in her 76th year of life. Peeling away the mask of an iconic comedian and exposing the struggles, sacrifices, and joy of living life as a groundbreaking female performer, the film is an emotionally surprising and revealing portrait of one the most hilarious and durable women in the history of comedy. The film screens on Friday, July 2 at 9 p.m.; Saturday, July 3 at 2 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m.; Sunday, July 4 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; and Monday, July 5 through Thursday, July 8 at 8 p.m. Admission is $6 for UM faculty, staff, non-UM students, seniors, and alumni; free for UM students. The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center will host its second annual Huntington’s Disease symposium on Tuesday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Orange Blossom Manor, 3535 S.W. 52nd Avenue, Pembroke Park, Florida. The free symposium is designed for Huntington’s Disease patients, their caregivers and family members, and allied health care professionals. Free parking and lunch are included.
