The University of Miami Developmental Center for AIDS Research (D-CFAR) will host James S. Kahn, professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), on Monday, July 26 at 12 p.m. in the Rosenstiel Medical Science Building, third-floor auditorium. Kahn will present “The Importance of Mentoring.”
Kahn is chair of the UCSF Research Administration Board and serves as director of the UCSF-Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology Center for AIDS Research Mentorship Program. He also directed the development of HERO (Healthcare Evaluation Record Organizer), a web-based electronic medical record system. Used at San Francisco General Hospital’s HIV/AIDS ward, HERO also serves as a database for monitoring trends in HIV disease and progression.
