The full-time M.B.A. program at the University of Miami’s School of Business Administration is ranked the nation’s No. 43 M.B.A. program in Forbes magazine’s biennial ranking of business schools, which hit newsstands on August 7.
The Forbes survey ranks M.B.A. programs based on return on investment—meaning compensation five years after graduation minus tuition and the forgone salary during school. The school’s ranking places its M.B.A. program as the No. 1 program in Florida.
“This latest ranking shows that the UM School of Business not only provides a first-rate M.B.A. education, but also great value for the money when compared with the hundreds of other M.B.A. programs across the U.S.,” said Dean Barbara Kahn. “It further illustrates the momentum we are experiencing as we work to solidify our place among the very best business schools.”
The school’s full-time M.B.A. program is a two-year program that attracts students from around the world. Nearly one-third of the class entering in fall 2009 will be international with students representing at least 18 countries.
“The accolades the UM M.B.A. continues to receive reflect the constant innovations we bring to the program, which range from an evolving curriculum to enhanced career services and new global learning opportunities,” said Anuj Mehrotra, vice dean for graduate business programs. “In just the last year, we have increased the program credit hours, added more elective classes, developed an optional real estate concentration, and enhanced the core curriculum with new classes in critical thinking and career development.”
The school’s other M.B.A. programs include an M.B.A. for Working Professionals and several Executive M.B.A. programs, one of which is taught in Spanish. The Executive M.B.A. program is currently ranked the No. 1 Executive M.B.A. program in Florida and the No. 33 program in all of the Americas by the Financial Times.
