Jay Weiss Center Grand Rounds Series: Disease Eradication Activities at the Carter Center

The Jay Weiss Center for Social Medicine and Health Equity Grand Rounds Series will feature Donald R. Hopkins, vice president of health at the Carter Center, who will present “Disease Eradication Activities at the Carter Center” on Tuesday, August 11 at 12 p.m. in the Rosenstiel Medical Science Building, third-floor auditorium. The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 credit. Shopping Experience at David Yurman boutique in Boston to benefit School of Nursing

On Tuesday, August 11, the David Yurman boutique at Boston’s Copley Place will host a shopping experience, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6 to 8 p.m.

As an added incentive, a portion of all purchases from the boutique during the week of August 9-15, 2009 will be included in this special initiative.  Purchasers must reference the University of Miami in their orders. Patient safety research at the School of Nursing and Health Studies embraces a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, and biomedical engineers who are devoted to fostering translational research models that provide the scientific basis for safe patient care. Proceeds from this particular initiative will support research to improve best practice in the area of surgical site infections.
