Cosford screening and discussion: Spiritual Warriors with Jsu Garcia

The Bill Cosford Cinema will be screening Spiritual Warriors on Thursday August 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Sponsored by the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness group, join Jsu Garcia (co-producer/co-writer and star) for a heartfelt question-and-answer session after the film, and an unveiling of  Jsu Garcia’s most recent film: the 13-minute short titled Who Are You.

UMH Medicine Grand Rounds: Update in Hospital Medicine – 2009

Amir K. Jaffer, associate professor of medicine, chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine, and Chief of Medicine Service at University of Miami Hospital, will present “Update in Hospital Medicine – 2009” on Thursday, August 13 at 12 p.m. at UMH Seminar Centers A and B, first floor.

By attending this lecture, participants will be able to outline high impact studies of relevance to inpatient, internal, and hospital medicine in 2008 and early 2009; review the methodology, results, and conclusions of these studies; and discuss the implications of these studies on internal and hospital medicine clinical practice. The lecture is designed for family practitioners, emergency physicians, surgeons, internists, and hospitalists. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Office of Research Information Management is offering a Velos Patient Management Workshop for study team members, coordinators, research nurses, and all study personnel involved in managing patients. Come and learn how this system will help you manage your patients. This hands-on module includes discussions on patient enrollment, patient status management, and patient calendars.
