The College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Philosophy presents Kit Fine, Silver Professor of Philosophy and Mathematics at New York University. Fine will lecture on “States and Counterfactuals” on Thursday, February 11 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the University Center, Room 233.
Fine specializes in metaphysics, logic, and philosophy of language and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a corresponding fellow of the British Academy. He has also held fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies and is a former editor of the Journal of Symbolic Logic. In addition to his primary areas of research, he has written papers in ancient philosophy, linguistics, computer science, and economic theory.
