Social media marketing: A business tool you can use

Join The Launch Pad and Jaime Paredes for this workshop on the emerging world of social media. Paredes is an expert in Web development and design, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, e-commerce and databases, and Internet video production and streaming. The workshop, scheduled for Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Toppel Career Center library, will focus on:

• Twitter: How to get people to follow you on autopilot
• Facebook: Setting up a fan page
• LinkedIn: Finding a job
• YouTube: How to create and upload a video in 20 minutes

Jack Rebney is the most famous man you’ve never heard of: an RV salesman whose hilarious, foul-mouthed outbursts circulated underground on VHS tapes in the ’90s before turning into a full-blown Internet phenomenon in 2005. Today, the “Winnebago Man” has been seen by more than 20 million people worldwide and is regarded as one of the first and funniest viral videos. Filmmaker Ben Steinbauer goes in search of Rebney and finds him living alone on a mountain top, unaware of his fame. Winnebago Man is a laugh-out-loud look at viral culture and an unexpectedly poignant tale of one man’s response to unintended celebrity. UM’s CAS Gallery co-presents PrintZero Studios exhibition in Wynwood

The University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Gallery, along with PrintZero Studios, will present an international exhibition of printmaking culled from the PrintZero Studios 7th Exchange at UM Wynwood Project Space, 2200-A NW 2nd Avenue, Miami.

The exhibition, which features the work of artists from Scotland, Canada, France, England, and the United States, runs from September 6 through October 1. In celebration of the opening, a reception will be held on September 11.

The exhibition includes works by Michael Alm, Charles Baird, Nola Dahl, Lisa Hasegawa, Elizabeth Jabar, Norman McBeath, Richard Repasky, Charissa Schulze, and many other artists. A catalog will be published in conjunction with the exhibition.
