The AACR Undergraduate Student Caucus and Poster Session will take place on Thursday, September 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. The event brings together undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students at all levels to address educational pathways and explore career options in the cancer field at an international scientific conference. The program includes a keynote lecture; a panel discussion of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on a variety of topics, including survival skills, transitioning to medical or graduate school, and career paths in cancer research; an opportunity for students to present their own research; and a networking lunch with mentors. Trudy Kane, professor of flute in the Frost School of Music, will give a faculty flute recital on Thursday, September 30 at 8 p.m. in Gusman Concert Hall. She will perform works by Feld, Faure, Bozza, and Gaubert, assisted by pianist Paul Schwartz. The final piece on the program will be Angels and Devils by Henry Brant, conducted by Douglas L. Phillips, doctoral student in wind conducting. Members of the Frost Flute Studio will accompany Professor Kane on the piece. The event is free and open to the public.
