Epidemiology and Public Health Grand Rounds: Effects of Biomedical Research Investment on Long-Term Rates of Health Improvement; Implications for Health Costs and Economic Growth

The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health and the Center for Computational Science will co-host Kenneth Manton, Distinguished Professor in the School of Arts and Sciences at Duke University and member of the International Epidemiological Association and American Statistical Association, on Thursday, May 27 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Lois Pope LIFE Center, seventh-floor auditorium. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Manton will discuss the “Effects of Biomedical Research Investment on Long-Term Rates of Health Improvement; Implications for Health Costs and Economic Growth.” He is a recipient of the Mindel C. Sheps Award in Mathematical Demography and focuses his research on health status forecasting, long-term care issues, and statistical modeling.
