UGalilee study abroad information sessions

Attend UGalilee information sessions on Tuesday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Rock (free t-shirt to first 20 applicants). Talk to UGalilee 2009 students about their experiences in Israel last year and the 15 faculty-led study trips throughout Israel. Get 15 UM credits in this UM study abroad program by taking UM courses on Judaism and Christianity and the history, literature, and culture of ancient and modern Israel. Study archaeology and participate in a dig where “the classroom is the countryside.”

Other information sessions will be held on Wednesday, October 7 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Merrick Building, room 105 and on Thursday, October 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Mahoney Residential College, room 102.

Hospital Medicine Grand Rounds: The Environment as a Source of Contamination

All About You Spa and Wellness Fair benefits the United Way

Join Medical Purchasing for its first-ever All About You Spa and Wellness Fair on Tuesday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room C of the medical campus Wellness Center. The fair benefits the United Way. Admission is free for members of the UM community, but donations will be accepted. The first 100 guests to arrive will receive a complimentary scented candle. Approximately 20 different vendors will be on hand to provide a variety of pampering options, including spa and beauty supplies, clothing, and accessories for hobbies such as jewelry making, knitting, and gardening. Take part in the $1 raffle for a chance to win baskets full of unique items for both men and women. The fair will feature giveaways, and vendors will have samples, business cards, and items and services for sale on site. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is pleased to offer a 30-minute training for those interested in building their capacity to consciously activate their body’s parasympathetic response.
