In 1970s Germany, the threat of terrorism and the fear of the enemy inside are rocking the very foundations of the young and still-fragile democracy. Radicalized children of the Nazi generation Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof, and Gudrun Ensslin are leading a violent war against what they perceive as the new face of fascism: American imperialism supported by the German establishment. Their aim is to create a more humane society, but by spreading terror and bloodshed, they lose their own humanity. The head of the German police force, Horst Herold, relentlessly pursues the young terrorists, even though he knows they are only the tip of the iceberg. In German, English, French, and Swedish with English subtitles. Admission is $6 for all University of Miami alumni, faculty, and staff, and is free for students. General admission is $8. The film screens on Friday, November 6 at 9 p.m.; Saturday, November 7 at 5:15 p.m.; and Sunday, November 8 at 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.cosfordcinema.com.

Amreeka chronicles the adventures of Muna, a single mother who leaves the West Bank with Fadi, her teenage son, with dreams of an exciting future in the promised land of small-town Illinois. In America, as her son navigates high school hallways the way he used to move through military checkpoints, the indomitable Muna scrambles together a new life cooking up falafel burgers as well as hamburgers at the local White Castle. Told with heartfelt humor by writer-director Cherien Dabis in her feature film debut, Amreeka is a universal journey into the lives of a family of immigrants and first-generation teenagers caught between their heritage and the new world in which they now live and the bittersweet search for a place to call home. The film is in English and Arabic with English subtitles. Admission is $6 for all UM alumni, faculty, and staff, and is free for students. General admission is $8. The film screens on Friday, November 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday, November 7 at 3:30 and 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 8 at 6:15 p.m. For more information, visit www.cosfordcinema.com.
