UM cornerback Brandon Harris has an ACC-high ten pass deflections this season.
The ninth-ranked Miami Hurricanes team will play its third consecutive nonconference game of the season in Orlando, taking on the University of Central Florida Knights this Saturday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Bright House Networks Stadium. It will be Miami’s first trip to Orlando for a football game since 1936.
The Hurricanes are coming off a 48-16 win against Florida A&M at home. Miami registered its first win over a top 10 opponent since 2005, having defeated No. 8 Oklahoma 21-20 on October 3.
Jacory Harris continues to have one of the best starts for a quarterback in school history, winning Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week honors after each of Miami’s first two games. The sophomore from Miami ranks 17th nationally in passing efficiency (152.13), has 1,225 passing yards in five games, and has already accounted for 11 touchdowns (10 passing, 1 rushing).

Hurricanes and Yellow Jackets will meet at Land Shark Stadium tonight at 7:30
Brandon Harris had a career-high nine tackles at FSU in the opener.
The University of Miami opens its 2009 home schedule at Land Shark Stadium on a national stage tonight, squaring off against Atlantic Coast Conference opponent Georgia Tech on ESPN.
The Hurricanes are coming off a thrilling 38-34 win at No. 18 Florida State in Tallahassee on Labor Day, while the Yellow Jackets enter the contest after early season wins over Jacksonville State and Clemson.
Both teams go into the contest ranked in the Top 25. Miami entered both polls following its win over FSU while Georgia Tech has climbed a few spots after a No. 15 ranking in both preseason polls.

To show his appreciation for faculty and staff supporting Hurricane Athletics, football head coach Randy Shannon has invited all UM employees to an exclusive football practice on Monday, August 17.
UM employees with a ‘Canes card can attend the practices on Monday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. or from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Greentree Practice Fields, 5821 San Amaro Drive in Coral Gables.
Attendees must have a valid ‘Canes card and authorization from their supervisors. For those interested, season tickets will be available for purchase at the employee discounted rate; a savings of 20 percent.
