In a lecture reflecting his school’s unique mission, Isaac Prilleltensky, dean of the UM School of Education, will speak on Wednesday, March 30, at the Lowe Art Museum on the Coral Gables campus at 6:30 p.m., with a reception beginning at 6 p.m.
Dean Prilleltensky will discuss “Promoting Your Personal, Family, and Community Well-Being: From Science to Action.” He will talk about his school’s innovative vision to develop educational, psychological, and physical well-being among individuals and families in multicultural communities.

The event is part of the Collegetown Faculty Lecture Series, a new forum in which UM faculty experts in various disciplines engage the community in intellectual discourse and enrich their knowledge on timely topics. The series, presented by the University of Miami and the City of Coral Gables, is free and open to the public, including members of the UM community, and is part of the recently passed Development Agreement.

The University of Miami School of Education’s new Master’s Program in Community and Social Change will host an information session for prospective applicants on Wednesday, March 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Eaton Residential College, Faculty Master’s Apartment, Room 108. The session will also be accessible online through Adobe Connect.
The program is designed to prepare a new generation of innovative leaders for the not-for-profit sector who are knowledgeable in the research, theories, and practice of promoting well-being in community settings. It is a 30-credit program with core courses generally offered on weekends or as weeklong intensive experiences. The program also offers a Peace Corps Masters International option in Community Youth Development.
