The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health will host Grand Rounds on Wednesday, May 18 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Gordon Center’s Broad-Bussel Auditorium, located on the first floor of the Clinical Research Building on the Miller School of Medicine campus. Carolyn M. Clancy, director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in the Department of Health and Human Services, will discuss: the national initiative to improve heath care quality and transform health services delivery through research; the role of comparative effectiveness research as a tool for improving health care quality and cost benefits; the newly approved Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute; and issues ranging from implementation and dissemination of evidence-based approaches required to improve quality of care to the importance of collaboration in advancing the science of health care delivery and public health.
