Attention nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, and psychologists. The Employee Assistance Program, in conjunction with the Professional Development and Training Office, is conducting a free seminar on “Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence.” Participants will receive one hour of continuing education credit which can be applied toward their professional Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence coursework requirements.
This session will be a brown bag lunch and learn on Tuesday, September 22 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Dominion Parking Garage, Professional Development and Training Office Training Room, suite 155. At the end of the lecture, participants will be able to describe the prevalence of domestic violence and how it affects people; screen patients for domestic violence history; respond to patients who are abused or abusers; adhere to reporting, documentation, and legal requirements; and provide helpful resources.
To attend this brown bag lunch and learn session, you must register via ULearn at ULearn.miami.edu. Participants must submit their license information to receive 1.0 contact hour toward renewal. Participants arriving more than five minutes late are not eligible to receive contact hours credit.
