University of Miami quarterback Jacory Harris and defensive back Brandon Harris have been selected Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football players of the week.

Jacory Harris earned ACC Offensive Back of the Week honors after throwing for a career-high 386 yards and two touchdowns on 21 of 34 passing in Miami’s 38-34 upset of No. 18 Florida State in Tallahassee on Monday.

Making his first career start against the Seminoles and third overall, Harris passed for 386 yards, which was the most by a Miami quarterback in the storied rivalry between the in-state foes and the tenth-highest single-game total in school history. The last time a UM quarterback threw for more yards was 2002, when Ken Dorsey passed for 433 yards at West Virginia. Harris capped the night by leading Miami on a six-play, 59-yard scoring drive for the eventual game-winning touchdown.

Brandon Harris was selected ACC Defensive Back of the Week after tallying a game- and career-high nine tackles (three solo) and breaking up two passes against Florida State. Clinging to a 38-34 lead with Florida State on the Miami two-yard line with nine seconds remaining, he defended a Christian Ponder pass to help seal the win for the Hurricanes.
