Cosford screening: ‘A Woman in Berlin’

A Woman in Berlin is set in 1945 during the Red Army invasion of Berlin, when women were victims of rape and devastation. One of these women is Anonyma (Nina Hoss), who had been a journalist and photographer. In her desperation, she decides to look for an officer who can protect her. She meets Russian officer Andrej (Evgeny Sidikhin) and their encounter develops into a complex symbiotic relationship that forces them to remain enemies until the bitter end. The film is in German and Russian with English subtitles. Admission is $6 for all University of Miami alumni, faculty, and staff, and is free for students. General admission is $8.
