SEEDS Industrial Engineering Speaker Series

Scientists and Engineers Expanding Diversity and Success (SEEDS) is sponsoring an Industrial Engineering Speaker Series beginning Thursday, September 17 from 4 to 5 p.m in McArthur Engineering Annex 202. The first talk will feature Hayriye Ayhan, an associate professor at Georgia Institute of Technology who has served as secretary and treasurer of the INFORMS Applied Probability Society and has held an NSF Career Award. Her area of expertise is stochastic processes and applied probability with an emphasis on analysis and control of queuing systems, and she has published on applied probability, operations research, and control. The seminar, titled “Queuing Networks with Cross-Trained Servers,” will be immediately followed by a mentoring event. For more information, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.as.miami.edu/seeds.
